What is the difference between Environmental Heath and Water Resources Management?

Here is the current curriculum at Ferris State University for a Environmental Health and Safety Management BS degree:

https://www3.delta.edu/artic/GuideInfo/Ferris-Delta-EHSM.pdf

Compare that to the MS degree in Water Resources Management from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the list of relevant classes on this site's Education/Experience page:

http://www.nelson.wisc.edu/grad/wrm/curric.htm

The water resources management program addresses the complex, interdisciplinary aspects of managing resources by integrating the biological and physical sciences (which identify and measure problems) with engineering (which defines technological alternatives) and law and the social sciences (which assess needs and potential for institutional response). The degree is designed to prepare water resources management professionals.

Where I will be:
I will be visiting neighborhoods around the county each night and weekend until Election Day. On October 28, I will be attending the KBS info meeting on Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations at 7:30.

Devastating Storm
A large flood event devastated many homes and businesses in our County last week. Both flooding and drought conditions are predicted to worsen. Last May the National Conference of State Legislators released a report to the Michigan Legislature predicting a 20 to 40% increase in rainfall, more intense storms, and more flooding. At the same time, predicted temperatures rising from 5 to 10 degrees over our historic averages will cause longer and more serious droughts. Kalamazoo County already experiences drought during sometime in the growing season 7 out of 10 years. This event highlights the critical need for better water resources management in Kalamazoo County.

Over the Top Friends
In early August, three well wishers from Riverside California carried the CROWLEY for Drain Commissioner yardsign up Mt. San Jacinto, the second highest mountain in Southern California.  Thanks guys! Where is the Kalamazoo Gazette when you need them?

Hangin' in there!

On August 24 the CROWLEY for Drain Commissioner mountain top campaign made it to the summit of Mt. San Gorgonio, the highest summit in Southern California. "The four-grommet poster from San Jac didn't last to Mt. San Gorgonio (another story); the summit winds prevented a tie-down in the short time we could linger (see below). And the high-altitude sun spangled off the shiny paper. But hey, there you are, at the 11,502-foot mark. The view is to the southeast, with the San Gorgonio Pass and the Santa Rosa Mountains over the Coachella Valley in the background."  Thanks to our most intrepid friends in Southern California!  On to Mount Whitney in September?  Mt. Whitney is the highest mountain in the lower 48 states!

AT THE TOP OF THE LOWER 48
The mountaintop campaign successfully made it to the top of Mt. Whitney on September 15th, just as it was starting to sleet and the water bag tubes began to freeze! Congratulations and thanks for your dedication! We've been campaigning through some storms here in Kalamazoo too!

The Richland July 4th Parade
The Richland July 4th parade: Even as many people were still without power after Wednesday night’s tree-wrenching storm, Richland gathered to celebrate Independence Day with our annual parade sponsored by the Richland Area Business Association. At least five parade entries were salutes to our community’s love of water. The Crowley for Kalamazoo Drain Commissioner entry had a new fishing boat, four beautiful fish, two sets of adorable twins: one fishing and one ready for the beach, and a canoe. One friend even walked along, carrying a mug of water! In all, there were 20 people and a dog in the entry. Other local water entries included the Gull Lake Country Club sailing team, the Kellogg Biological Station, and one clown fish!
